Tmrw in MCPS: another snow day or a delay?

Anonymous
Delay. Roads are clear now, and morning ice won't last long.

Fairfax got a lot more snow than MoCo.

Parts are, anyway. Your point?

Monday's storm delivered a foot of snow to our south-east, PP. We had the dregs. Usually it's the reverse.

Meh, we’ve closed for less. A lot of sidewalks and back roads in my neighborhood are still icy (Rockville). From what I’ve seen, the advisory is mostly for PG county and nova, but who knows. Definitely a delay, maybe a 30% chance of closure?

I hope it's just a delay.

That way the kids get their rapid tests, about 10% will test positive, and the 89 yellow schools will go virtual.

Seriously, why do you hope for this? How can you possibly see this as a good outcome? It's just demented.

Trolling. Don't worry yourself about it.

Wishful thinking. They update the count by 7pm every school day, so a delay doesn't do anything for school closures. I sympathize with the sentiment, though...

A delay vs closure tomorrow means my kid gets to go to school and all the students get rapid tests to take home. When they test and test positive, it will push his school from yellow to red. The school is closed, the longer it will take to get a large testing sample.

Well, some schools went to virtual without even opening - but I see your point.
