If you're a type A what type of movies/shows do you love?

Fellow Type A and Frasier lover too! I also love the Andy Griffith show. Hate Tarantino and any movies with non-linear timelines.

Type A here and comedies/standup are my go-to.

Wow! I have found my people! I never realized stand-up comedy was a Type A thing, but it makes sense. I also don't have the patience for most movies these days; as a Type A, I can't stand the idea of wasting 2-3 hours watching something!

This is me especially during Covid.

I’m a frontline Rt and am drawn to very very old comedies and British sitcoms.

Omg I am very Type A and I love stand-up comedy. My DH thinks it’s weird. I try to explain to people that truly excellent stand-up comedy is more closely related to philosophy than entertainment, but nobody understands.

You are right on. And to be a stand up comedienne you have to be very smart.

This thread is so bizarrely smug, lol. “Only I, a blessed type A, can truly appreciate great stand up; there’s an intellectual component, you see.”

I admire your ambition but you’re not *that* special.

This thread is interesting. There is a potentially cool research project here.

I am Type B and agree completely. Hannah Gadsby has really moved the ball forward on this.

This is such a weird thread. What does Type A/B have to do with taste in movies and TV?

A true Type A doesn't have time for useless activities like watching movies.

True. Feels like a waste of time to watch a movie or tv show that’s pure fantasy. Same with reading for pleasure; I mostly read historical fiction or might read some classic literature if I’m not reading a biography, for example.

I also am a stand up comedy fan (always have been) and binge watch Call the Midwife, MadMen and Frasier but generally enjoy documentaries.

New favorite is Night Watch (New Orleans EMS/Fire/Police). Common theme? Nothing current or pertaining to current events.

Yes this is my DH. 9 - 10 - 11:00 at night and he's still hard at work solving the world's problems. I'm a non-profit manager, and any evening you can find me curled up with my ipad giggling at Frasier, the Office, Hacks, Eyes of Tammy Faye, Ballers, Ted Lasso, Offspring, ANY show or movie that has NOTHING to do with any world problems! Yuck! If i want world problems I can turn on the news! Or go to the office!
