Have you ever had a black eyed pea? It's a bean, not a regular green pea, sugar snap pea, or other pea. |

I can’t do it. They taste like dirt. Sorry if we all have bad luck this year. I know. I suck.
A friend said that cabbage also counts for this tradition. If true, we’re all saved, because cabbage rules and I have some in my fridge right now. |
| No, they upset my stomach too much. |
| Isn't that a Texas tradition? The only person local who I ever knew to do this was from Texas. |
U had them once and don't like them. |
| Yes. I love them. They remind me of my elementary school cafeteria in Augusta, GA which regularly served them along with rice and collard greens. Really, that cafeteria is one of my only good memories of Augusta. The library was also great. |
| DH would love if we did, but I just can’t stand the taste. |
| No, I don't like them |
It’s not specific to Texas, no. |
| Yes, of course. Southern tradition. |
| Yes, of course. Southern hoppin' john. |
| Yes. We’re in SC right now and ate Hoppin’ John with collard greens for dinner. |
|
Yes, of course.
With greens. |
| Yes. They were delicious and we talked about how we need to cook them more often. |
| No makes me fart like 1970 Pintos. |
