Second cousin question?

I come from a big extended family and we are all very close. My kids are super close with their 2nd cousins, and we just call them cousins. Their mom (who is my first cousin) and I grew up together, we're very close. I'm closer to her than I am to my sister. Sometimes biology doesn't matter.

I grew up very close with my cousins. One of my cousins is my best friend and her son and my son are the same age - we have told them they are cousins. So in my family, anyone below the age of my parents is cousins unless it’s your aunt/uncle.

However I am weird about aunt/uncle. So my cousins who are a generation above my kids are cousins and not aunt/uncle though some in my family will call a random cousin aunt/uncle to their kids. The only aunt/uncles are my siblings/in laws.
