Please don't think accent changes are affected! I've heard that theory for years on DCUM, and it's hurtful and silly to think that most people would deliberately make an effort to change how they speak - way too much trouble (notable exception: Thatcher). Some people are just natural mimics and do it without even realizing they do it.

How hurt do you think Johnny is by us accusing him of a fake accent?

Regardless. I don’t think American accents change unless forced a la Madonna, Dorit Kemsley, Hilaria Baldwin and Depp.

Yes, even my youngest kids- 10 and 8 say "that looks like it smells like stink" when the Sauvage commercials play. Bad breath, bo and cigarettes I would think.

This happened to me after living abroad. I had no interest in sounding weird. It just happened.

1. They were never married
2. With filming movies how much was he really there? Not enough for that fake ass accent

I can totally see this. My parents still talk about the early years of their marriage stationed on an AF base. Dad could always tell which friends she’d visited that day by the accent she had picked up during the visit. She has perfect pitch and I always suspected there was a connection.

The only word that doesn't sound American is "Dior".
