Why do you say that? She has only worked for us for a few months? And we typically only do a full week each year for bonus. Just curious. |
Maybe she was waiting to open it on Christmas? |
This is OP. I do actually thank my boss for my bonus in person when he tells me what it is, even though it doesn’t come out of his pocket but he does have discretion as to whether I get the full amount or not.
That said, I am not asking because I am looking for my nanny to show gratitude, I am asking because I am worried she is not happy with the amount. We still have not heard from her and she did not thank me when I handed her the envelope either. Our past nanny always sent us a thank you text the same night or next morning. And same from our cleaning lady. |
You’re talking and plea and oranges. Your boss tells you the amount. You hide the money in a card. Personally, I’d do a generic thank you and base my actual feelings off of the contents once I open it, but I wouldn’t go back and tell you later how I felt or thank you again. |
Hi OP, I’ve definitely always thanked my employers when receiving any gifts. I have a full-time position, plus also do ad-hoc sitting on the side for other families when available. In December, I’ll receive gifts from several families, either when seeing in person or through Zelle/Venmo, and ALWAYS sincerely thank them when receiving. |
Update OP? Any word from your nanny about the bonus? |
