+1. Same for the teachers. We are told to keep coming if we are exposed and don’t have symptoms. We are not even required to test.

Not required to test even if a close contact? This thing is going to rip through public schools after winter break. It’s going too be an ugly scene.

The health department recommends testing 5-7 days after exposure. I was a close contact over the summer.

You are quoting me. I’ve had positive students in my class more than once and have never been asked to test. The HD only called once and it was early on and I was told to monitor myself to see if symptoms develop but I should keep coming to work.

^fyi I personally do test. I have purchased a lot of rapid tests on my own but that’s me. No one required me to and that may change now that they are out of stock everywhere.

DW is a teacher and was considered a close contact in the fall just before school started when a grade level colleague tested positive. HD called and since she was fully vaccinated she was told she could still go in while monitoring symptoms. No test needed. I’m also a teacher, but I have had no positive students. A few teachers have been close contacts and continued teaching under the same advise from the HD.

I wasn't asked to test. They recommended I test between 5-7 days.
