| I eat so much less than I use to (old person here ..haha) BUT it's because I've finally learned what it takes to manage my weight and that's just in order to keep a-little overweight and not more. Don't judge! you don't have our (older) metabolism. |
| senior moment ~ I use to eat so much more than I use to ... |
No one is judging eating less as you age. We are perturbed by the older adults who insist everyone needs to eat the way they eat down to the times and amounts and if you need more because you’re a 15 year old boy in a growth spurt, you just can’t have it because 2 meals a day of reduced portions is perfect for everyone! |

OP here- sorry my lingo wasn’t PC. And I wasn’t judging- I was empowered with information that this is a very common issue. Metabolisms slow as we age, so it makes sense. I also think my in laws would benefit from eating more, and my mil was told she needs to gain wait, so instead of catering to them I am taking charge. PP who said they had to split one can of green beans- that is awful and a takeout showdown is what I was trying to avoid.
It’s probably healthier for them anyways to eat more. And we cook good food at home, no junk except all natural ice cream for dessert during vacation. |
| I'm just now realizing that the vast majority of posters on DCUM must be old. |
| Op, you made a perfectly nice post, which is why the pps are testing it apart. Don't beat yourself up. |
| I love the a annual food post. The Thanksgiving basket was my favorite. |
That’s because it’s a weird old person control issue and it didn’t work. Cheers, OP! Glad you and your family won’t be having another Oliver Twist family Christmas. |
