Who stuffs the ChrsitmAs stockings? Do you stuff your own?

Only the kids’ stockings get filled. We cut adult ones nearly 15 years ago. My husband is awful at gifts and I’d rather not get anything than make a ton of effort on my part and get thoughtless junk in return.

I do DH’s and DCs. DH does mine

I used to buy myself a few things every year mainly after my mom aged out of sometime after she turned 80. My sister and I usually get each some small presents now but when we are not together we don’t send much. I got tired of it after a while and stopped one year. That year DH noticed the difference in stockings (it was really bad- two things from my sister and nothing else) and he tried to do better, some years it is over kill, some years nothing and some years it is in balance. Our children are older now and I said if we are going to continue the stockings then they had to participate too. So now, it is a little more even.

It is weird, some years I just didn’t care and some I really was hurt. There was no rhyme or reason to it either.

For those that only do children’s stockings and not adults, when do the children’s stocking stop?

I do the bulk of all of them, but DH adds several things to each as well, and mine is usually half filled with his additions. I fill up the rest with very thoughtful things I buy for myself. I quite enjoy this part of the holiday!

My young adult (mid-20s) love their stocking gifts most of all. And I love finding a mix of useful and fun items to fill them.

I buy for all of us. I get fancy toiletries, chocolates, nuts, etc for us. For DS I get fun toys, candy, etc.

I do DD and DH, and DH does mine.

We are pretty modest with the items we choose. Socks, fruit, nuts, some candy, hair stuff, little bottle of vanilla extract, etc. It’s all stuff we’d be buying anyway, and it’s fun to make it festive!

I do. Yes buy my own stuff as well.

I prefer to give them to receive so all is well.

I stuff my husbands, he stuffs mine. We work together to stuff the kids.

Lol, I love that women are stuffing their own stockings!! I’ve thought about doing it as well as there’s always stuff I want/need…but i have NO idea what to put in DH’s so I end up not doing either! Just the kids. And I do great kid stockings.

We both take care of the kids stockings. DH stuffs my stocking and I take care of his.

It appears to be somewhere between college graduation and marriage. I'm pretty sure my 21 year old niece, who is in college, will get one, and my 27 year old married BIL who is in grad school won't, so the line is somewhere in there.

My oldest is 14, which is clearly in the "stocking" category, so I haven't made that decision, especially since we've got little ones who believe celebrating with us.

My mom stopped doing mine when I got married. My failure to launch brother had his filled until he finally moved out at 29.

I'm one who said that.
My kids are in college and high school now. I'm thinking when the youngest goes to college, or maybe the following year (sophmore.)
