FCPS has always also had two, for packing up classrooms. Are you really a teacher?

I am. Elementary for almost 30 years. We get one day after the students leave. Grades are always due a week+ before the students leave. There are no 4th quarter workdays to work on entering grades, which seemingly take forever to do.

I work with LCPS, that second day isn’t often mandatory.

I’m voting for the longer calendar. There is literally no difference except one has 3 fewer days at the beginning of the year. Why would I vote for less school?

Vote away! They will choose the one they want.

Luckily we will teach less days next year. I hope you cry hard enough at the school board meeting so we can make memes out of you like this one:

“…fewer days”?

ES teacher and I voted for the first option. The last few years with the Thursday start and 4-day Labor Day weekend it’s been hard to get kids into school routines, and having a full week and 4-day week to start would be helpful IMO.
