What about a weighted-stuffy?

These provide emotional support and are super-popular with the 12-14 age group.

I'm PP. Keeper of the Lost Cities is the series. She's read each one many times, but they are books she loves to re-read so wants her own copies.

Gifts that I have given tween dd and neices that they have enjoyed in previous years:
record player
cake decorating toolkit of her own
bread baking kit/supplies
lava lamp
beanbag chair
duvet for her bed so that she could easily change the look with a new cover
watch
fitbit
huge set of embroidery floss for making bracelets

You really have to know the kid.

My DD isn't into clothes or accessories at all, but loves to draw (but not into other crafts.) She's a huge reader, especially of graphic novels because she enjoys the art as well.

Her xmas list is all art supplies and books. Couldn't care less about tech. Also wants a horse, but that ain't happening.

These were pretty much her pandemic lifesaver. Her favorites were the library/bookstore and the Japanese house, as well as the functional wooden clock.

If you do purchase kits like these, she found the Beacon 3-in-1 Craft Glue that frequently shows up in the “Customers Also Purchased” lists on Amazon to be really useful, because it’s much less stringy and more forgiving that the stuff that comes with the kits.

Also, a tool set like this one is helpful if you don’t already have a lot of stuff on hand: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071LB1T5D/?coliid=I2R1YRID2U5LQP&colid=18VHB98XDF6Z3&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it. My DD was happy not to have to ask us every time she needed tweezers, files, wire cutters, etc, and pretty much everything she needed (besides glue) was in there.

Not OP but these look amazing. Would they be too hard for a crafty 10 year old?

The ROKR wooden ones aren’t too bad, if you start with a simple one. Don’t start with too many moving parts, since that’s where things tend to get tricky.

The RoLife ones can be pretty fiddly, so I’d get a small one to try out first, and plan to help a lot. The greenhouse one was particularly hard to get everything straight and squared, and there was stringy glue everywhere on the clear parts. I had to do some surgery on the base to make everything fit.

The instructions are fairly clear, but everything has to be cut out individually with tiny scissors, even the pieces of the furniture, and each plant or flower is made of individual leaves or petals that have to be cut out and assembled. At 10, I’m not sure mine would have had the fine-motor control or the patience, but every kid is different.

Our DD wants face masks and bath and body works stuff (in addition to some of the other ideas mentioned). Also got her a gift nailpolish set and LED lights for her bedrooom. . My mom is getting her some jewelry making stuff, which she asked for.

Cat and horse. LOL.

Lots pf good ideas on this thread my 12 year old would love. She has too many things including what's listed here. She is into fashion and art. Im getting her makeup and beauty things— nice set of makeup brushes, eyeshadow palette, etc. bath products like nice shower gels, sugar scrub too. Also got mean girl tickets for the Kennedy center when they went on sale. I like experience gifts since they don't become clutter!

Mine has one of the weighted stuffies that you can heat in the microwave and really likes it for when she gets stomach aches or cramps.

Here you go... they're called Warmies and they are AMAZING

Here's my review as someone who's immediate family owns 3 of them, and I've purchased 4 more for family members with sleep & anxiety challenges.

These are so darn cute and each warmie is scented in a lovely French Lavender scent - what's really great about that is; it's just a slight hint of lavender, and it's really very faint (I cannot STAND the smell of heavy perfumes or artificial scents, and I love this).

And although the scent is BARELY noticeable to your olfactory receptors (sense of smell) your brain receptors are working overtime with calming stimulation & exploding like fireworks, however with soothing sensatory receptivity.

In a nutshell, the smell isn't overpowering... it's super faint, however your brains sensors are under the impression that you're sitting in the middle of a lavender field in the South of France.
Those receptors then begins to stimulate relaxation, initiate mental repose, diminishing anxiety & tensions, and makes you drowsy.

The inside filling is like a weighted bean bag filling, so it gives you tons of ASMR when it's warm and you're rolling it between your fingers, which it's relaxing.

Add that with putting them in the microwave before bed, and you have a guaranteed trifecta of sleep!

Trust me when I tell you, you'll love these.
My entire family suffers from anxiety & sleep issues, and these warmies have helped us out tremendously!

There are like a hundred of them to choose from, and they're all so cute so it's tough to decide.

My daughter has the kitten.
My son has the shark.
My niece has the polar bear.
My other niece has the husky.
My nephew has the hippo
I bought the little lamb for my baby sister (she's 38, lol).
And the gerbil is mine. 😁

Trust me when I tell you, you'll never ever regret buying this for your kid if they have sleep or anxiety challenges (and they're great for kids even if they don't have challenges!).

Give this to your kid right out of the microwave before bed time, and guaranteed they'll be out like a light in minutes.
