Have you used "TaskRabbit"?

I have had great experiences with taskrabbit.

Don't go for the cheapest person and read the reviews. I have used this one guy on and off over the past 3 years. He has helped me move, fixed some plumbing and electrical issues and installed a garbage disposal.

Depends on what you want done. Moving heavy items, hanging something easy - I'd go for it. I wouldn't trust for my intense jobs. My husband did work for TaskRabbit when he was a stay at home Dad for extra money on the weekends. It took us less than a month to realize how easy it was for him to start his own business and not have to give a portion to TaskRabbit. He now has a full time handyman business. I could be wrong but I don't believe many people are doing TaskRabbit long term and therefor may not have the most experience. Granted my husband had done construction work for years and was very capable when he started on TaskRabbit but it didn't make sense for him to stay on the platform.

Task rabbit does a lot. DH has used them a few times.

About 5 years ago, we wanted to go to roses luxury restaurant with some friends that were in town. Reservations were in person only, taken first come- first serve. DH hired someone on task rabbit go get a reservation in our name.

I was telling my friend this story and she told me she had someone go stand in line in Fairfax at the SS office for her when she needed a new SSN card for her DS drivers permit. (She had stood in line 3 hours one day and didn’t have all the paperwork and had to go a second day.) TR went at 6am before the office opened and She showed up after school drop off and took their place. All that and she was still #3 in line but it saved her hours. She said she was afraid other people would be upset but no one said anything.

I have used them several times and know others who have used them. Never a problem. Hired them to pick something up and deliver it elsewhere, to clean, to do admin work, etc.
