I thought Trayon's views on weather control were generally accepted in DC and he's popular enough to make a run for mayor. Good luck getting rid of him.

Results of the 2020 Ward 8 Democratic Primary:

Trayon White 58.2% 5,063 votes
Mike Austin 27.3% 2,376
Yaida Ford 7.5% 656
Stuart Anderson 4.7% 405
Other/Write-in 2.3% 197

The Navy Yard adds about 5600 residents to Ward 8. I think a well-funded, business-focused African-American candidate can unseat Trayon. The campaign will hinge on turning out Navy Yard in a huge bloc and then lots of advertising in traditional Ward 8 - "What has Trayon actually done for you?" (hint: not a lot). Plus, you really think the middle and upper-middle class of Hillcrest really enjoy Trayon? I doubt it.

I honestly think there is a good chance Trayon can be unseated in 2024.
