What's on your Thanksgiving Menu?

We're pretty traditional:

Appetizers - cheese plate, deviled eggs, veggie tray

Turkey - brined & butterflied
Mashed potatoes
Sweet potatoes, half covered with marshmallows and half covered with pecan streusel
Gravy
Dressing
Steamed green beans
Cranberry sauce
"Thanksgiving slaw" with cabbage, apples, pomegranate seeds, celery
Rolls - haven't decided yet if we'll make homemade or buy a package of Martin's

Pumpkin pie
Apple pie
Pecan pie
Homemade whipped cream
Vanilla ice cream
Assorted chocolates

Wine
Sparkling cider for the kids

Lots of pies listed as desserts. Other than pie, what's for dessert? Looking for ideas.

The problem for me is I make these potatoes, brussels sprouts, carrots, beans dishes on a regular basis.

Turkey seem to be something that is uniquely Thanksgiving but only 2 out of 10 people are into turkeys at my party.

Pies - the less sugar the better for us.

Maybe I'll add one of those "ethnic" dishes others have mentioned in the other thread about ethnic food.

Pumpkin cheesecake?

Not PP, but have been wondering, is pumpkin cheesecake AND pumpkin pie too redundant? There will also be an apple dessert, if that matters.

I'm the PP who suggested pumpkin cheesecake, and I don't think they're redundant. They're very different desserts (as someone who has made and who loves both).

^ As someone who doesn’t like pumpkin desserts, I think they are redundant. Do a fruit pie or plain cheesecake.

Turkey - Alton brown brined recipe
Smitten kitchen challah stuffing
Sweet potato streuseled casserole
Mashed potatoes made with olive oil
Macaroni and cheese
Smitten kitchen brussel sprout, apple and pomegranate salad
Corn muffins
Possibly another green vegetable?

Dutch apple pie
Pumpkin Pie
White chocolate brownies
(12 people - do I need another pie?)

Have you made this before? I was just looking at this recipe and was wondering about it. Worth it?

As someone who loves pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake, I don’t think they are redundant at all. But I might use a gingersnap crust for the cheesecake just to differentiate it a bit more.

One of my guests takes the lead on this every year. It is good although I’m not sure it’s with the mess, etc.. but I don’t do it so it’s fine.
