The truth is profession doesn’t dictate personality, OP. I’ve met very rational, level-headed artists and very dramatic and self-aggrandizing scientists.

Yet all fat women get lumped together. Got it.

NP.

Cut it out, PP. We get what you're doing and it's not helpful.

Sorry if you feel "fat women" get burned by stereotyping, but that is not a reason to snark at others being stereotyped and to make it all about you/me/us.

And I say this as what most on DCUM would surely consider a fat woman.

The poster above you is correct. It's silly and reductive to assume artist = flake/flighty. Or scientist = serious/levelheaded/drama-free. Or fat = whatever you're thinking of, PP. OP needs to get to know the individual.

Most important question:
Is he financially comfortable? He doesn't need to be rich, but he needs to be successful enough that he can afford his expenses and save money.

IMO, lots of artists are looking for someone else to pay their way. Either a trust fund or a sugar mama/daddy. I've seen it a lot with my friends who dates artists or people I know who are artists. Plus, there's a lot of woo-woo New Age dilettantes who fancy themselves as "artists."

Hunter?

Who is Hunter?! Two people mentioned him....

Biden. Hunter Biden. And the poster who mentioned him brightened my morning with their humor!

My BIL is an artist. And so is his husband. BIL is a solid, level headed guy. His husband, who I love but could never be in a relationship with, is self absorbed and will throw a fit if he doesn’t get his way.

What, seriously?
...You know we're basically all entrepreneurs, right? Even those of us with high falootin' gallery representation? And that, much to our chagrin, a lot of us actually use algebra EVERY DAY? And that having a successful studio practice takes an insane amount of discipline?
