Where is “Hoodbridge”

What is Lake ridge like?

I'm glad you like that house, you will never be able to leave it. Two reasons:
unless you work from home your commute will be 2+ hours
GANGS and GANGS and more shootings and crime.

Sign up for Prince William County Police New or Updates on social media. Every single murder (daily) is in Hoodbridge.

And how is there no laundry room somewhere in that 4400 sf?

Lake Ridge is ok but you still deal with the school issues and, to an extent, the crime. Many, many townhome developments in LR that are right next to SFH neighborhoods - they all fall victim to the same crime (although at lower rates) than Woodbridge proper.

Woodbridge has historically been blue collar, but is now targeted for redevelopment by the County given its VRE station is 30 minutes from Amazon's new HQ2. Like Lorton and Merrifield, which were once down and out, Woodbridge is close to Arlington & DC (for Prince William County) and ripe for redevelopment. https://www.insidenova.com/headlines/remaking-woodbridge/article_fd5ff692-edb1-11eb-9860-4f174225fdb4.html Most people don't know about it, but Belmont Bay is in Woodbridge and has an upscale marina, a mile of waterfront and will soon have 90 acres of County parks and a new wave of upscale development. (https:///www.belmontbay.com). The schools need work, but if you are a millennial looking for housing, it should be considered.

To each their own, but the decor in that house screams "try hard / basic"

Lol, most of y’all would be shocked at how nice it actually is to live in City of Manassas. This board….

Anonymous wrote:I’m a mythical Woodbridge DCUM lurker. There are three thing wrong with Woodbridge. One, the schools have no cachet. Two, if you live in a townhome community and leave your car door unlocked, it will be rifled through at 3 AM. And three, there are only three ways over the river and the traffic on every one is hideous.

On the plus side, I can afford a solidly built five bedroom house on a large gorgeous lot fifteen minutes from mass transit, Nordstrom Rack and Wegmans with enough money left over for Catholic schools, so yay me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

#2 is true in all of the DC metro area pp. Not exclusive to Woodbridge. So all in all you have a pretty good deal.

Manassas, when you can't afford Woodbridge.

My brother lives in Lake Ridge in a beautiful townhouse directly on the Occoquan Reservoir. Million dollar houses right down the street. Lake Ridge is nice. It feels no different than Burke or West Springfield or parts of Lorton.

Hood bridge to me encompasses the Route 1 corridor (not including Belmont Bay) down to Dale City.

You mean down the street from Georgetown South? Hard pass.

+1 Hoodbridge is along 95. Lake Ridge is nice. Lots of people are moving there from parts of Fairfax which were once more affordable and now are getting too pricey for middle income Gov/teacher couples with kids, like West Springfield and Kingstowne.

Sorry. FXCO native here (50ish) and I recall the Hoodbridge moniker from the late 70s. It was always a cheaper place to live relative to the tonier suburbs in Fairfax County.

Made me remember Manasty for Manassas
Dump-fries, too

Recently heard Herndon called Hernandez.
