This could have been accomplished almost three months ago if the Dems didn’t play games with this “infrastructure” bill, i.e.., trying to tie this to the larger Build Back Better bill that will not pass

McConnell wins, again.

This should have happened over the summer. But instead of reining in the caucus then, Biden and Pelosi cut the progressives and moderates too much slack -- allowing this damaging and unnecessary political debacle to take place. Sure, the infrastructure bill passed, but only because enough GOP members hopped on board. The division between moderates and progressives is still there.

The jury is still out on the budget reconciliation bill, which still has several hurdles in front of it -- both in the House and Senate.

The Ds need to get their act together fast. They've already damaged themselves politically as thousands of voters switched to GOP candidates in Virginia and New Jersey this past week.

Cant believe Pelosi folded. This bill guarantees 5 years of work for Trump voting steel and construction workers. Meanwhile the social spending bill is dead.

+2. And hope the other bill doesn’t pass. It’s outrageous.

Just shows you how many stupid political games Pelosi and the Dems were playing. Funny how they passed it lightning fast after getting demolished at the elections. They desperately want to stop the bleeding. They could have passed it all along with out the crap social infrastructure bill.

This is a weak, lazy & ignorant take.

DP. Fully agree with the first poster and completely disagree with you. The antics of these six Democrats are a big reason why VA now has Trumpy Youngkin as a governor.

I still don’t understand why the rest of the GOP is against this bill. The other one I understand.

The Squad would have voted for it if there weren't GOP votes. Don't kid yourself.

Actually it was the 6 moderates, not the 20 progressives, who caused the delay. If they had put out a similar statement about the BBB two months ago, the logjam would have passed then.

150 GOP could have joined with the rank and file Dems to pass it 2 months ago too, but that didn't happen either. Why blame the fringes of either part?
