Help with 10th grader who won't step up - what are alternatives? anyone with experience?

Agree with the suggestions above. You may also want to schedule college visit to someplace he’d like. Hard to be excited by college if you can’t picture yourself there. Look for a place with a good business school you can tour. They will talk about what they are expecting from grads. It helped motivate both my kids and was needed around 10th.

How are things at home between you and your spouse? Any fighting? Money issues? Can he see his friends or are you strict? For me those are the reasons I ranked at that age. Can one of you take some leave for a week or two and really focus on your kid? Good luck.
