Is he popular in Ward 8? |
+1 |
She couldn't *keep* Brandon Todd elected, though. I'm a little dubious about this alleged scheme, even though on paper it would seem to be obvious. Gray already pulled these type of shenanigans in his mayoral race against Fenty and got caught pretty easily. Bowser isn't the brightest bulb, yes, but do you really think she would do something this obvious? It would have zero chance of remaining a secret. |
There's nothing illegal about her nudging him into the race. It's in both of their interests to run: he siphons votes from White and she continues to protect him. All he has to do is fill out the application and submit it by the deadline. Not exactly rocket science for the Council Member's staff. |
How does Bowser protect T. White? What has she done that shows protection? I'm not a fan of Bowser but this seems to be a conspiracy theory that you all are inventing. |
I am not a Bowser fan by any stretch but she has a seriously sharp political machine. SOme of it she inherited (the "green team") from Fenty but also has several nationally DNC experienced campaigners and PR folks. including her chief of staff. |
| I am aslo pretty sure her team pushed FAith Hubbard Gibson to run for Ward 5 council. She is smart but is also Director of a DC agency. |
| Bowser definitely supported Reeder running against Silverman. I doubt any sort of plan would be as nefarious as the Gray campaign's shadow campaign with Sulaimon Brown (7 people pled guilty or were convicted and several went to jail over that). That's in part because T. White doesn't need money or the promise of a job in order to run: he has a good-paying job, and he wants to run. It's just that some of the people who will encourage or support him are doing so not because they think he'll win but in hopes that his candidacy will help their preferred candidate win. That's not really a crime. |
| It feels like, if you want to smear Bowser, there are really obvious ways to do it (e.g., point out things that aren't working) instead of just innuendo and pure fabrication. |
She was SILENT during his anti-Semitic social media debacle. Any decent mayor would've called for the dummy's resignation. There's no shortage of smart District residents who could've taken over the Ward 8 Council seat if he resigned. But she stayed silent and allowed him to weather the storm. If she had spoken out, he would've been toast. |
Really? Idk man, everyone seems to not like her. The board certainly does. Why would people care what she said? |
|
Still conspiracy thinking, though. You've made up a series of events that might have flowed from something Bowser could do, and then used that to suggest she's asked Trayon White to enter the race.
Do we really need to engage in this type of thinking? |
Bowser may have stayed silent herself, but one if her closest supporters organized a rally in support of Trayon White: https://wtop.com/dc/2018/04/dc-council-member-wants-action-anti-semitic-remarks/
Now, I personally like Josh but he is very combative and controversial (though nice to me for some reason). It is a fact, though, that he is very close to Bowser. |

That whole debacle is weird, though, with Silverman saying she’s a supporter of T. White. And then Lopez and White fighting about supporting whomever ran against Silverman.

She should have. -1 for Bowser that she didn't. |
