Where would you on vacation over Thanksgiving week?

We are considering this. Have you been to Denver over Thanksgiving before? What do you expect the weather to be like? Thanks.

Nope but the weather history shows highs are usually in the 50s and lows in the 20s. Pretty reasonable! We went to Chicago one year at thanksgiving and everyone here told me it was going to be miserable and awful. It wasn’t at all. Normal mild late fall cool weather and cold nights!

You never know what the weather will be in Colorado. It could be a blizzard one day and then 70 degrees the next. Keep an eye on the extended forecast and if they are calling for snow, there will be snow and make sure you rent the appropriate vehicle. Colorado is a magical place. You will enjoy it even if you don't head to the mountains for skiing (which would be insane over Thanksgiving because the schools have the week off).

Yeah we aren’t planning on doing skiing at all

Enough already. Flying is no more risky than the other normal things most people are doing every single day (kids going to school, grocery shopping, going to the gym, kids sports ….)

How is a kid going to school remotely like a kid getting on a plane? And your 7yo kid is going to the gym? Even if they are going or a gym most gym still have a distancing policy. The issue with flying is that you can’t distance and you can’t choose to avoid people that you feel may be risky.

To say flying is the same as those other activities in simply moronic.

Actually it’s not the same. Do you those places recycle the air every 3 minutes?

Sorry your paranoia and anxiety are getting the best of you.
Yes I think flying is less or as risky as a kid sitting in a classroom with poor ventilation with 30 kids from different families all going about normal life and exposures.

And my point was that most families and kids are living life in 2019 fashion so risk on a plane is no different that what they are going at home. school, sports, grocery shopping, dining out, hanging out with friends and so forth.

No recycled air in the airports or bathrooms. We just flew a couple weeks ago and one guy was hacking up a storm in the waiting area by the gate. He was not covering his mouth, though he did have a mask on. But still, it was gross. I prayed we weren’t seated anywhere near him. Thankfully we weren’t, but I certainly would have been concerned about Covid exposure if I had to sit next to him during the flight.

Also you’re very exposed when waiting on the gang plank to get onto the plane. There’s always a bottleneck there as people put their stuff up and get settled on the plane. No recycled air there either.

I would stay domestic with unvaccinated kid

I’d go to Busch garden, but if you really have a whole full week, no contest: Mexico!

It is safer. At least on a plane I know my kids and those around them are masked and the air is better. If you think all kids are wearing masks correctly at school you are sadly mistaken. We’ve been on 10 flights in the last few months and felt very safe. Everyone tested after and all negative.

You know all this because you saw it happen. You don't know what everyone is doing in your kids class or where they've been over the weekend, if they have flown or not, etc etc. To each their own.

you know Boulder is hours away from Garden of the Gods, right? Stick with north of Denver or South, I wouldn't do both for a week. GoG is nice for a few hours but nothing like the Rockies.

Nowhere. It's an awful time of year to travel.

If it were me, I’d to south Florida or somewhere else far enough south to be guaranteed to be warm. And I’d relax on the beach/at the pool all week, enjoying good seafood. Plenty for your kid to enjoy and you too.

Did you see the comma? I don’t think Garden of the Gods is in Boulder, we are going to both lol.
