Family w/ 4 kids - staying over the holidays

Will they sit in your house all day and expect you to cook/serve/clean up every meal and entertain them the whole time? Or will they get out and about on their own?

I would never let my SIL and BIL stay in our house with their four kids. They're rude and inconsiderate and we did a joint beach house with them (MIL's request) and it was a misery. No way would I let them trash my house and expect me to do everything. They can stay in a hotel or an Air BnB. And yes, we have tons of space. But not for them!

They have a 1 yr old? And they're hands-off type parents?
Your holiday decor will be destroyed by a waddling 1 yr old and consider yourself lucky the Christmas tree will still be standing ipright with only the bottom one-third of the ornaments missing.
