Words you won't allow

Gay? My kids know their uncles are gay and definitely use the word. We all do.

Faggot, retard, any racial or religious slur.

All the rest I don’t really care about. The typical curse words are vulgar and I correct them but no one goes home feeling less or crying because my kid said “sh*t”.

Frikken and pussy were swears. But my brother still said them. My kids can’t say “shut up” or “idiot”. But we all say CRAP unfortunately. 💩

All curse words, any words disparaging intellect (stupid, retard, etc), any word disparaging sexual preference (fag, homo, etc although my kids are young and probably haven’t really been exposed to these).

We proudly call out farts in our house, but sometimes call them toots.

Dp but I think tone and context matter with respect to gay.

we don't allow "oh my god" and constantly insist on "gosh" or "goodness" instead.

Everyone I know says “suck”. I don’t even see how that’s a bad word. What are you supposed to say? “That stinks”?

Not my uncle is gay…

More like stop acting gay, that’s so gay, etc

Yeah growing up we had to say that stinks instead. I'm still curious about the poster who said her kids can't say of course because I'm wondering what's wrong with that?

My kids ( and any adults and/or kids in our house) are not allowed to say: "stupid" and "of course". We are not yet worried about the f words or the n word because they don't really hear them(we watched all kinds of movies as kids - they don't.)

I'm still waiting to hear what's wrong with "of course."

Mine are 9 and 12. Sucks is not allowed. Cursing is not allowed. Although I have said to my 12-year old that it’s specifically not allowed around parents or younger kids. Meaning I get that swearing occurs among the friends.

To the poster that doesn’t get what’s wrong with sucks - it’s sexual. Oral sex. So many people consider it to be just as crass as the F word.

+1 swears don’t bother me. Only slurs.
