I agree. I would say this parent is more "open to the vax" than pro-vax, otherwise they'd have gotten it already, regardless of the opinion of the conspiracy consumed spouse. This parent has multiple health conditions too so it's just very hard not to be angry at the irrationality of their choices.

Yes, the lack of critical skills on the part of people like PP is MIND BOGGLING. The science could not be more clear--vaccines are highly effective against hospitalization and death. Breakthrough infections are real, just like with flu shots, but the consequences are far less severe.There is literally NO part of this point that is disputable.

I would drive the sane one to get vaccinated.

My father has anxiety issues that are increasing with age - in his early 70s, he has a hard time doing anything that is not part of his routine. So while he was terribly scared of catching Covid, when he had the opportunity to get vaccinated, suddenly he invented all sorts of reasons why he couldn't go. My mother had to lecture him and push him out the door. I'm sure there will come a time when he reaches full non-compliance on anything. Sigh.
