Range or cooktop with double ovens?

It’s more convenient to me to have everything in one place. I can check on what’s baking quickly while I’m cooking something on a burner. When I take something hot out of the oven, I have a place to set it down.

I have one very large oven in the range, and then I have a separate small Breville convection/air fryer/etc that I adore that is on the countertop next to the range. This is actually my ideal configuration, except when my built-in microwave dies I’m going to replace it with the Breville microwave/convection/air fryer & reclaim the counter space.

Now just waiting for the person from the real estate forum who kept arguing that a La Cornue range with double ovens was “cheap” and that ALL high end homes must have double ovens.

La Cornue is not my style, but it is very high end.

Right? That was the discussion — it may not be your preference, but it’s not “cheap.”

I did a cooktop (yes, induction for what that is worth) and double oven.

I have had both setups and I like having my cookware under the cooktop. I also like not bending down for the oven.

have you heard of range hoods? they're an amazing invention.

Range would be 48 in (6 burners and griddle) with two sides to the oven (one large, one small)

Cooktop would have the same 6 burners and griddle and then 2 36 in ovens. Cooktop and double ovens are cheaper.

Both would have gas for top and electric for ovens.

Just completed a kitchen remodel. For years I've wanted a double oven, so when we renovated I made sure that was part of the plan. We went with 48 inch, 6 burner GAS cooktop, and double oven to the side. The oven is electric.

Same. We did 36" range instead of 48" and then a microwave/wall oven (probably 32") combo. To be honest though, we mostly use the wall oven and our breville toaster. We use the range oven occasionally for holidays and when we're making meals that start on the stove and finish in the oven.
