Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
Yes, but mid-pandemic when every cold results in multiple days home from school/childcare, a COVID test, and missed work for the parents... it seems especially inconsiderate now. That said, my kid is going back to preschool Monday even if she still has a runny nose. She has been out since Wednesday, negative COVID test, no fever since thursday. her nose is going to run for days, and I need to work. It is daycare policy, and she almost surely caught this at daycare - but I do feel a bit bad. But, we've skipped the playground all weekend as a courtesy (because it isn't needed for me to do my job). |
+1. And let me echo the above loudly: IT’S NOT THE COLD! I work in a daycare and have seen parents in tears because we couldn’t take their child in with a simple cold (like we used to). It’s the fear and enormous expense of covid tests and protocols. The fat, well-healed parents don’t get it. They whine that their little Larlo really wanted to go to the playground (even though they have backyards) so Larlo gets five other little kids sick. |
| If your kid is younger than 4 or so and didn’t have a chance to catch all the colds before Feb 2020, they are going to get them all this winter. The only way to avoid it is to stay home, and even that just delays it |
IT’S NOT ABOUT THE COLD!!! How fricking dense are you?! |
Your kid is going to get the cold - and have to do the testing etc. - because that’s how kids build immunity. It’s inevitable. Mentally prepare and line up backup plans for quarantine now. |
You are an elitist. Dense and elitist. |
Where are you paying for a Covid test, OP? Our family of 5 has taken probably 50- 60 Covid tests for various things in the last 18 months and have never paid for one. |
The worry is all in your head, OP, and is nothing that we can help you with. Sorry, but my kids have a right to be on the playground too. It's not your personal yard. |
Urgent care. Not PP but it was $65 to get our son tested on a Sunday. But even if we could have waited to see the pediatrician, we have a $35 copay for each visit. Probably not a lot of money for you but it is for us. |
It’s not your personal yard ether, PP. If you think other parents aren’t judging the crap out of you when they see your snotty kid, think again. And yes, you definitely do care. |
Thanks for being the perfect example of a white elitist. Trump lost, btw. |
I am correct. Also, if your daycare kid gets sick, they probably got it from daycare, not the playground. |
| Amen! Some parents are so self-centered and lazy. They can’t be bothered trying to think of another activity for their snot-faced kid. Prepandemic I shrugged. Now I notice and remember the parents who bring their sick kid around other kids. |
Lol! You are really making yourself look worse, PP!! NP here and you’re not helping yourself at all!! |
+1. And I will remember long after covid is over. |
