The revolutionary War? Civil rights protests? Slave revolts? Violence happens in this world every day, sometimes for good cause. Grow up.

Yes it was wrong for southern segregationists to inflict violence on non-violent civil rights protesters. What is wrong with you?

And ask Native Americans and enslaved Africans what they thought of the American revolution

They were taking Trump off stage and he asked them to stop for a moment to get his shoes. Trump was not putting them in danger. The shooter had put everyone in danger, and had been killed.

The Secret Service protect the office of the president with their life if necessary, no matter who is elected president.

I guess they are pretty confident it's only 1 shooter.

Imagine some dude props a mannequin on the roof on a spring, then puts on his tacticool cop costume, and fires on the target while pretending to be part of the security team.

I don't know why they don't hold up a giant bulletproof shield when escorting the target to a bulletproof vehicle.

Also, literally nothing is going to change the outcome of the election. It’s so fun that Republicans think that Trump will get sympathy votes in November lol

He’s not gonna get sympathy votes. He’s gonna get votes from people that are rightly impressed that a 75+ year old man can get shot in the face and walk it off while pumping his fists.

Real man stuff. You probably don’t respect it or understand it. But there’s a big wide world outside of your suburban book club.

Real men don’t cheat with hookers. Even in the big wide world outside my book club.

Real men don't whine.

Real men aren't sore losers.

Real men are good fathers and husbands, not serial cheaters.

Real men are kind.

Real men put others before themselves.

Real men admit failure.

I could go on...

You are conflating "Real men" with "Good men".

We can agree that Trump is not a good man.

Wow so I hate this “real man” garbage. He was perfectly happy to be shielded on the ground by a female SS agent until he was assured other people had actually dealt with the threat. There were definitely some brave and talented people there including some badass women. Trump did what he always does, which was to look out for himself in every regard with out thinking about how it would affect anyone else.

All I know is this is going to make it even harder to avoid Trump in November. He looks too strong. And I feel deflated at that reality.

Political extremism is marked more by the extremism than by being on one side or another. These mentally "seekers" jump from ideology to ideology looking for a higher purpose. Their politics are internally contradictory.

No, we cannot.

We can agree that a man who donated $15 to Act Blue on the day of Biden’s inauguration tried to kill him, though.

I agree that Trump is not a good man. He is in my view a truly horrid man. However I don’t believe in violence and don’t believe in unfettered gun rights and don’t believe in either capital punishment or extrajudicial killings. Not for anyone.

Condolences to the families of the victims.

+1 and porn stars, while his wife is pregnant with their child. Nor do they try to get out of their military duty by using a lame excuse.

Why are we saying we want a “real man” to head our country?

Do you people aspire to live in a romance novel?

Do you even understand what this job entails?

Were you in a coma on 2016?

Exactly.

How exactly does getting shot (in the ear, by the way, not the face) increase one’s qualifications to be president?

Dude was a lib tard

Shooter was a registered Republican wearing the shirt of a libertarian 2A youtuber, and the shooter's own instagram profile looks like a QAnoner, with "praise the lord" and "take down Epstein's evil empire"

And donated to Act Blue the day of Biden’s inauguration.

IMG-2252

ActBlue Charities Inc. is an American political action committee and fundraising platform established for serving left-leaning and Democratic nonprofits and politicians.

Fake news. Anyone could create this. He was a registered Republican and it destroys your argument. You know this which is why you are desperately trying to spin this fact.

“The gunman did not have a criminal history reflected in Pennsylvania’s public court records, and officials said they had not identified a motive. A voter-registration record showed that Mr. Crooks was registered as a Republican, though federal campaign-finance records show he donated $15 to the Progressive Turnout Project, a liberal voter turnout group, through the Democratic donation platform ActBlue in January 2021.”

The NY Times is fake news!

Shooter was a registered Republican who followed 2A libertarians on social media and who himself posted QAnon stuff on his own social media. His father was a registered Libertarian.

He was a liberal who registered as R due to closed primaries.

He was a white male with an affinity for guns who obviously had mental health issues--like most mass shooters in this country. Period.

+1 Yet gun nutters still want such people to have access to guns. That is the real problem here. Not politics.

Give credit where it’s due. It was good political instincts to stand up and look defiant after an attempt on his life. Geez. But you want to focus on the Secret Service doing the obligatory coverage of his body??? And be all girl power about the female agent? Okay, no, that’s not the takeaway.

It absolutely doesn’t. But when you compare how quickly he got up to where Biden is age-wise, it makes the comparison all the worse. I’m terrified how this is going to swing the election even more to Trump.

Please keep it civil people. I just reported an awful post to Jeff that was a personal attack and something that should never come out of anyone’s mouth. If you have to resort to name calling like that, you’ve lost the argument.
