The boxes contain documents and mementos from Trump’s presidency, reportedly including letters from Barack Obama and Kim Jong Un, and other correspondence with world leaders.

A legal source said that the boxes had been packed up by the General Services Administration and shipped to Mar-a-Lago when Trump left office in January 2020.

Trump’s attorneys, led by Evan Corcoran, had been cooperating fully with federal authorities on the return of the documents to the National Archives and Records Administration, according to sources.

The third paragraph is an obvious lie, so I would not give much credence to the second one. But even if the GSA sent it- so what? The question would be, who ordered it to be sent?

It is absolutely critical. You think Trump, himself, was overseeing the packing of boxes? LOL.
This goes to intent. If the GSA packed the boxes and had them sent, where is the intent on the part of Trump to take classified documents?

Anyone who doesn’t believe Trump was squirreling away material hole thought significant is a rube. There is contemporaneous reporting about his requests for documents F’s and aides carrying boxes from the Oval Office to the Residence. Then you have the matter of his 1/20 directive seeking to “declassify” a binder of documents relating to Crossfire Hurricane. The man is nothing if not singleminded I’m his obsessions.

GSA didn’t pack boxes. They sent a contractor to pick up packed and sealed boxes and deliver them to Mar A Lago.

He or his agents instructed the movers what to pack. Movers don’t select what is packed and where it is sent. Have you never moved residence?

How long will it be before we see a picture of DJT matching his orange hair and orange body with orange jumpsuit?

Would that be perjury?

Not unless he’s under oath. He is a inveterate liar.

This is a weirdly credulous article to be posting at this stage of this whole thing.

^ and it's also such a strange mix of unattributed quotes (that clearly come from trump and are clear lies) and almost, like, sponsored travel writing:

"Once inside the air-conditioned, white marble-clad private quarters, agents fanned out to search every room, while shocked staff were instructed by Trump’s lawyers to unlock doors and provide the FBI access to every room, including the sumptuous Versailles Master Bedroom, renovated by Melania two years ago."

Like, come for TFG being called to account for stealing nuclear secrets, stay for the sumptuous Versailles Master Bedroom, renovated by Melania two years ago.

Let them eat stolen nuclear secrets!

You are amazing.

They knew he had presidential records, I think it’s clear that something just came up recently that pointed to him having these kinds of documents.

Like some are seen in our enemy state by US spies?

Then why didn’t he give them back when asked multiple times months ago? What is your point? No matter how you slice it this is bad news for one specific oompa loompa.

He returned boxes of documents. He probably didn't even know these items were there.
Why didn't the DOJ issue a subpoena for the docs? Why a raid?
The FBI is looking pretty damn bad today. As well as the DOJ in general.

Perhaps because they were concerned that Trump would relocate the documents to an unknown location if he had a heads up this was coming. I mean really, Trump does not comply with subpoenas.

The FBI is not looking bad other than to MAGA sheep. These were brilliant chess moves by Garland.

I closed out a Congressional office. We packed the boxes. GSA picked them up and delivered them to the address we told them to take them. GSA didn’t pack anything.

Funny how that didn't accidentally happen with Clinton, Bush, or Obama. Hmmm....

You can bet on the fact that the FBI has 302s for key WH staff and grand jury testimony in some instances. The record was locked dow before the warrant was executed. .
