Food, Cooking, and Restaurants

My sister is flying in next Tuesday. I have to pick her up at DCA. I have to then take her into DC for meetings which begin on Wednesday. So, I was thinking we could stop in Georgetown for lunch. She is a bit picky and a huge PITA to have a meal with.I will also have my 2yo DD. Any suggestions? I am opened to other areas as well. I am drawing blank on this. Thanks!

| What about Pizza Paradiso or Le Pain Quotidien? This are pretty kid friendly during the day. What kind of food does your sister like? What is she so picky about? |
| I mean "these are..." |
| Thanks! She is just one of those who will complain about everything. I just find her difficult to please! |
| My ideas are Jaleo in Crystal City or Tackle Box in Georgetown. |
| Farmers and Fishers at the Harbor in Georgetown (it was most recently the spot of Agraria). The food is superb and I've seen babies/children there. The prices are pretty decent and if you order the guacamole -- your sister will be stuffing too much of it in her mouth to have anything to complain about. You can scope out the menu online. It is the "water version" of Founding Farmers at 21+ Penn -- it's sister restaurant. |
I know the type. In the heart of G'town is Leopold's cafe. It is actually kid-friendly (there are always kids in there). Even if she doesn't like schnitzel (yum!) and linzer torte, you can tell her how chic she looks on the designer furniture. There could be better pastry shop-cafes, but at least it looks cool. Although it was in Real Housewives of DC, don't hold that against them.

| OP Here. I love Farmers and Fishers. Thank you for the suggestions. I will check into Leopard's! |
| I like Leopolds but it's pretty expensive and very crammed...might not be comfortable for a baby. Glad to hear you like F+F OP |
No offense, but your scale needs to be recalibrated. It's not bad, but superb? No way. I second the Leopold's recommendation. |

Yes, everytime I've ordered at F+ F it was superb pp. And again, Leopold's is good...but not for a toddler.
If you like Asian OP -- Miss Saigon is fun for lunch as is Harmony Cafe. Both are on M Street. |
Compared to what - McDonald's? |
| I don't eat at Fast Food restaurants pp...not even as a child. |
| Farmers and Fishers is not superb. It's the best of your choices in the Harbor complex, but it is far from superb. It is pretty good, and I've never had anything downright bad (other than the chocolate-covered bacon "lollipop" appetizers; they are truly disgusting) and there are often kids there, but calling it superb is a massive stretch. |
| I'd probably do Tackle Box (my 2-year-old loves their mac & cheese) or Pizzeria Paradiso. Gtown isn't the easiest place to park on a Tuesday, especially with snow on the ground. good luck! |
