This isn’t recent years. This is a down year for Landon who already lost to MIAA bottom tier St. Paul’s and got roughed up by middle tier St. Mary’s. Meanwhile Gonzaga handled the number 2 team in the country. Landon loses by 10+ |
It seems like this season it will be close between Gonzaga and SJC for top two teams in the DMV and maybe the US. |
It seems like people are jumping to conclusions based on early results. Bullis best Prep in their first game last year, but the teams had very different seasons. It will not be “close” between SJC and GZ. SJC is miles ahead. |
| Gonzaga will end up third or fourth in WCAC probably behind DeMatha. |
| Bullis has their hands full tomorrow |
This is hating. DeMatha is really bad. Starting over from scratch. |
I agree this hating, but don't underestimate Dematha. They are rebuilding for sure and the new coach is seeing what he has to work with. They will get better every game, and I'm betting on some later season surprises. The GZ game isn't until late April. ALSO - You can't split the WCAC based on the talent of the year - Dematha is consistently a competitive school and will be back in fighting form soon. They will want to play SJC. (Honestly no one in the WCAC WANTS to play SJC this year, but most of them would be pretty upset if they didn't have the chance. Hope springs eternal, and they will either get crushed as expected or have the game of their lives.) Dematha and Bullis are putting big bets on the class of 2025 and building those Freshmen early (reminiscent of SJC 3 years ago) - could have both teams showing power for years to come. |
|
Dematha 25 class and transfers coming in this summer will take them to next level, no pun intended, okay maybe a little. Seriously good players wanting to play for them now.

I'll put my money on Bullis... Bellistri has proved he can coach.
Mitchell accomplished very little at the Heights in a span of 10 years. |
| DeMatha played scared today. |
| Is there a link for the Landon game? |
If we see an upset, it will be this one. Last year, Heights/PVI was tied in the final 6 minutes. Then PVI went on a late run. |
Dave beat DeMatha, GC, Oconell, and played SJC to one goal at a school that doesn’t recruit, doesn’t offer merit-based aid, has 50 kids in a grade, and is 50% Latino. That’s impressive. |
Can they pull the upset on PVI this week |
I guess we’ll find out… |
