My condolences to the family but why would they need assistance? They seem like a well off family.

A stroller company is setting this up?? The family rented a stroller from them??? I'm so confused. Is this a scam?

Again, this is why people commenting on this case are ignorant about Disney and how it works. Kingdom strollers is an authorized business that rents strollers to families. It's legit.

People are starting to post pics of their children in the same place. It could have been anyone's child that was there. People who haven't been to that hotel don't seem to understand.

Thanks for sharing. I live close to this resort and guests are on the beach and in the water daily. Disney has never told anyone to move. It's so horrific.

Not only have they not told anyone to move, they've actively encouraged the beach use with the activities and sand pails and buckets. People saying otherwise on here don't seem to understand that this wasn't some random lake in Florida.

Disney had an estimated 126,479,000 visitors in 2015 alone. They've been open 45 years. So millions and millions and millions of people have used the resort without incident.

And if the family decides to drag them into court, that is what the army of Disney lawyers is going to say.

The Dad drowned the kid and has scratches from the boy fighting him off. The dad then yells gator to cover his tracks. The boy sinks to the bottom and is later found intact and with very few puncture wounds. None of the alligators are found to be responsible. Boys injuries are not consistent with alligator attack. Family gets huge payout from Disney and is not suspected.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but so much conflicting information has been reported that it makes you wonder.

The boy had traumatic injuries, according to the autopsy.

That's the opposite of what I've read.

The Orange County medical examiner released his cause of death : drowning and traumatic injuries. I'd trust the medical examiner over something that you heard.

It's interesting that the gator didn't even eat him. I was surprised to hear they found the body.

It's luck nothing has happened yet.

Gators don't eat people as a rule. We are not what they are looking to eat.

I've seen kids in the water at beaches all over Disney. Cast members nearby. Never saw anyone tell them to move. Disney didn't think gator signs looked good. Plain and simple.

As PPs keep saying, alligator deaths in Florida are very rare. It was very bad luck that it happened.

With the population boom of gators, and with visitors feeding them, Florida, Fish and Wildlife, and Disney may have to reevaluate how to handle gators.

It makes me feel physically ill knowing we were just there in February with our 2 yr old. All the little ones were playing along the water line, ours included while we watched the boat parade and watched the magic kingdom fireworks from the shoreline. That there would be gators there never even crossed my mind.

This isn't some random space in the resort. It's very lively and full of Disney employees showing outdoor movies and keeping the campfire going for s'mores while the kids run around at the shore.

I wasn't. Alligators snatch prey, save them underwater for a while, then eat them.

All of the litte kids were wading the entire time we were there. Especially at night because that's when the festivities are.

How about snakes? Did those happen to cross your mind?

Nope. I've never even seen a bug on all our trips to Disney. Let alone reptiles.
