Closing USAID

the head of the Fulbright program resigned today. Very sad for the hundreds of kids who were hoping to do this program in the future, but will now have loyalty oaths to need to participate.

Seems USAID was just there to funnel money to Democrats and make it appear legal.

Now they’re offering incentives to people
To come back and shut USAID down in an orderly way. Should have thought about that up front morons.

Posting a bunch of threads from no name randos does not make it true. Try to find your brain cells and try to read some respected news sources, none of which are reporting the “news” from some guy’s Twitter thread.

All it takes is for the small business owner to have a 51% stake in the business. Minority, woman owned, veteran owned, hubzone, all are special categories for contract awards. The government created the incentive for rampant fraud.

Now do defense contractors 51% owned by disabled veterans.

Also known as "rent-a-vet" - I worked for a business that was 100% SDVOSB and we used to see fake SDVOSBs backed by big contractors all the time. Also tons of sketchy Alaska Native companies.

Are you trying to justify fraud? Are you their defense attorney?

In ordinary times, when one finds fraud or questionable practices, one changes procedures to fix the problem. Rather than firing everyone and closing a congressionally mandated agency, which is unlawful and a violation of separation of powers.

Seems this agency is so fraught with fraud that closing it and starting over is really the only alternative.

When billions in tax payer money has been wasted due to fraud, time to close it down.

This is really an insane take.

Not sure if you can see it - but if someone else had said this in 2024, you would have thought they were a nutter. That's not how our government works. We fix it, we don't close it.

Give it a rest. DOGE found no fraud waste or abuse and all they did was decimate this Agency for spectacle. The dismantling of our foreign aid architecture will cost this country dearly in the future.
