We don’t want our kids to feel like they’re going to prison instead of school. Why are repubs so against gun control? |
| I don’t see Edmund Burke on the list of schools so presumably shooting at a school from offsite is not included, which makes sense I guess |
Why do conservatives want to pay cops to run away when faced with danger |
Why not learn the lessons Florida did after Parkland? And make wise EFFECTIVE improvements like Florida did? They obviously love their children, and their guns. |
What 'effective' improvements did Florida make? Arguing that four years without a massacre makes measures effective is like arguing the bear patrol works |
4 of the 10 deadliest mass shootings have been in Texas, 3 of which were in a church, restaurant, and Walmart. This is the state with more guns, almost double that of the next highest state. So exactly how many guns are needed to ensure safety? Do we hand out assault rifles to everyone? Because the more guns Texas gets, the more people die. Or maybe it’s not about gun free zones, because these shooters understand they are going to die as well. Maybe it’s that these shooters are evil people who want to kill children, and our laws allow them to easily do so. Also keep in mind your every day idiot who took one class and carries a pistol is absolutely useless against someone with an assault rifle. He’s gonna get mowed down before he can even take aim. Unless your idea is that 20 people run after the shooter firing away, in which case they’re going to hit multiple people in the crossfire. If they even do anything. Remember Dan Bilzerian, the Instagram loser who posed with firearms and bragged how if he was in a shooting, he’d take the shooter out himself? He was at the Vegas shooting, chickened out, and ran off (but not before posting video talking about how he watched a woman’s brains get blown out). It’s absolutely laughable to think idiots with pistols and zero training are going to stop someone with an AR-15. |

For anyone who seriously cares, get Why Meadow Died, written by a father whose daughter was murdered in school. Andrew Pollack dedicated his life to researching and promoting school safety. But if all you have is your screeching Ban Guns!!! mantra, don’t bother. You have no interest in protecting children. Otherwise, you would equally demand that no public buildings have armed security guards. |
Precisely. This is what we need to do. We are not denying anyone a gun, just follow some basic safety rules. |
Public buildings shouldn’t have to have armed security guards. We shouldn’t have to live in this climate of security theater. I don’t think an armed security guard will actually protect anyone. |
We're actually not. But we're not letting the gun nutters try to do this INSTEAD of banning assault rifles. You are trying to change the subject. |
| You shouldn’t need to lock your front door at night either. |
Except literally no other developed country has this problem, and they don’t have armed guards at schools, either. |
I don’t know anyone who thinks we should all be able to get drugs. In fact, the people I know who want gun control also want pharmaceutical companies to be held responsible for the opioid crisis. Not sure what your point is. |
So you want a “war on guns” like the “war on drugs”? |
It the oft-noted proposal that pops up on social media by “unknown” enact a law modeled on abortion in which any person along the path toward gun access can be held accountable in the harm. |
