Any tips on how to remove your rings without getting them cut? |
That happened to me, you can actually google it and come up with a ton of suggestions (I don't remember the specific site, a co-worker looked it up for me). A combination of dish soap and body butter finally worked for me. |
vaseline worked for me. |
Drink a lot of water, go for a long swim in cool water, and then remove with soap or vaseline. |
try windex. |
my jeweler friend swears by windex. |
I hope they come off and you don't have to go this route:
One of my dear friends waited too long to try and remove her rings...and none of the suggestions worked for her. Because she was going to have a c-section, her OB strongly recommended that she get a jeweler to cut them off, otherwise they would have to be cut off at the hospital. The jeweler took care to cut them off gently and in such a way that repairing them wouldn't be a problem. The OB could not guarantee that the hospital would do the same. Good luck. |
THis happened to me. I tried Windex, tried soap, tried shea butter lotion - none of these ideas worked. I took a long bath one night, shaved my legs (took me a while at this point in my pregnancy) using shave gel, soaped up real good, etc. After about 30 minutes I tried to remove my rings under the soapy/shave gel water and boom they came right off. Random, I know, but it worked by shear luck. |
OP - thanks, got them off! Combo of all suggestions worked. |
Just curious-- when did you all remove your rings? (I'm just over 26 weeks and wondering if I should do so now). |
Well..My rings got stuck around 36 weeks. I had the hardest time thinking about not having my wedding/engagement ring on. I should have taken them off at 35 weeks. I was also pregnant in the heat of the summer which didn't help at all. My son was born at the beginning of September. The hard thing is you can just swell overnight! |
My rings got stuck at 27 weeks |
ice (so they are less swollen) and then soap worked for me |
I think I stopped wearing my rings around 32 weeks. Once I started swelling I didn't want to take a chance in getting them stuck so have been wearing my wedding band on a chain around my neck. The engagement ring is in a dish at home. |
Funny story to add: My friend didn't want to look like an unwed mother when she delivered so she went to Walmart and bought a cheap gold band since her real rings no longer fit. |
