SY+60 = kids born after 9/1

But, it also allows kids born 7/1-9/1 to "play down" with kids their grade in school. As long as they can prove grade enrolled and birth date.

SY+60 specifically prohibits older kids from playing down with younger kids. Even if they are in the same grade in school.
It allows older kids to play down and create a 14 month window.

It is a 14 month window but 7/1 to 9/1 has to show proof of age with a birth cert and proof of grade enrolled in school.

The only kids that will qualify for 7/1-9/1 are the once from states with a start date before 9/1.
You sure cause their aren't any states with July starts but the idea is for a 60 day allowance? "But, it also allows kids born 7/1-9/1 to "play down" with kids their grade in school. As long as they can prove grade enrolled and birth date." So you are saying the SY60+ would only apply to what, the 5 or so small states with August birthday school start dates? Seems like a nothing burger then.

Correct, but instead of ignoring the states that are getting screwed + still having trapped players. ALL trapped players are addressed with SY+60.

Also a by-product of SY+60 is that regrades aren't allowed to play down for wins. Which is what most people want with SY.

A crazy parent who desperately wants his kid to be the oldest. It will not happen for any SY+. It will be a fixed 12-month range. Your only hope is for them to change to 8/1.

PP says you are incorrect. Which matches with the SY+60 thing. If based on what you are saying, that the state start date matters, then it should only be SY+30 because states don't have start dates before July 31. And SY+30 would be the same as SY on the East Coast. So this whole thing is just for a handful of small states to allow August kids eligible to play one year down.

It's clear this poster has a July kid clinging to a roster spot.

OR the person just wants GY but with restrictions. Heck, the whole BY to SY does need more nuance for a better transition. I said way back in the 300-400s of this thread they should only do SY for u-littles at first and phase it in (or at least for those beyond the trap year) and let the older kids play out at BY to minimize disruption. Obviously, that's not happening but it would be better if it did. Then again if they could do SY+60, they could tilt at this windmill as well!

Yes, SY for 4v4 ONLY -- Let's go!!!!!!!!!!

Tryouts are currently underway in our area...

Our bid day is June 18th. Anybody have a bid day after that? Just thinking in terms of transition plans being released.

Tryouts in our area ended about a month ago. League playoffs end around mid July for most so I would expect to hear something mid to late summer. Would love to hear something earlier but I doubt there is much change for 25/26.

SY+60 vs +30 is just to catch all the wacky July start dates if which there are a couple.

Again this is not a blanket 14 month window. It's a 12 month window with a defined exception proces for kids born 2 months before 9/1 and are in the same grade as everyone else. They're in that grade because their school start date is different than others. Ie a trapped player

FYI, before July 31 would be July 30 or earlier. So only SY or SY+30 for the few states before 9/1, whatever, same thing. Just need to make sure that kids not held back a year from school playing down.

Get over it
It is a 12 month window just like always and they never said they would fix all trap players just most and they stated that. Time to move on and deal with it.

Yes, it would be a blanket 14 month window for states with a school cutoff prior to 9/1. Interstate tourney or league play would be disrupted bc you are worried about your kids ability to maintain current roster spot
