What other clubs? |
Vlc 2020 had over 60 kids and featured high level lacrosse. |
Is 3d mid Atlantic just a bunch of goons or is it good lacrosse |
Goons? That seems like an odd thing to write about youth lacrosse. Their youth program is decent. The high school teams are more a loose collection. Most of the high school kids also play non high school season lacrosse with their school and some play for other clubs as well. PP - this time of year you'll always see kids trying out all over the place from different programs. Madlax has an enormous group of teams. |
Madlax kids trying out for other teams are usually the scrubs. |
Nice thing for a parent to write about kids on youth teams. The 3d tryouts had about 60 kids and Club Blue had about 59 kids per grade at tryouts. Those are the only two I am aware of. Lot of kids who are set with one club will tryout for several others to see if grass is greener. |
Does anybody know how many kids are just trying out for next level |
I think Next Level tryouts are not until next week. I believe they take place on Thursday August 28th at WES. |
I have heard many bethesda kids are goin to next level i expect the quality to be very high |
Club Blie is fading. With Giblin officially gone from Prep and now at good counsel, club blues original purpose (push kids into gerogetown prep) is now gone. The majority of the dads who were involved with club Blie were close buddies with GPs former ball coach.
It will be interesting to see if club Blie just folds entirely in the next 1-2 years. With Giblin now at good counsel, look for some type of travel program up there to form to funnel kids into Good counsel. At the very least there are some less competitive club teams up county Giblin could get involved with. |
I thought Club Blue was Giblin's program, meaning he owned and ran it. Is that incorrect? |
Gibbons do still run Club Blue. Not sure about the theory much has changed. A lot of their coaches are still affiliated with Prep, so that chord is hardly broken. Maybe it is a bit awkward now that Giblin is at Good Counsel. But the bottom line is that is in Olney, not Howard County. The way some people make it sound kids from Rockville or Bethesda are out out of reach to attend a school in Olney. It's a couple of towns up the road. Not a 5 minute drive, but doable for people who want that. Club Blue seems about the same it was before, for better and for worse. |
Since when is Giblin with GC. Was there an announcement? |
Giblin is an assistant at GC. Old news.
CB is all about Mater Dei kids who will go to Prep. If your son is not planning on going to Prep, don't play for CB. The coaches know where kids are going, and they won't care about your son if he's not a Prep kid. |
