If Obama was currently president and tested positive for COVID, he would also be whisked away to spend a few days under observation at Walter Reed - and you’d be cheering the abundance of caution shown in his case. There is a difference between hearing testimony and taking votes. Senate rules currently prohibit proxy voting for anything close.
