Shots fired at Trump rally

Anonymous
Anonymous wrote:So are conservatives warming to gun control?

nah. Their solution is always more guns. The irony, of course, is that people who attend rallies are not allowed to bring in guns.

Do you think a gun nutter whose child died from a shooting, accidental or not, wants more gun control? Nope.

More than likely, the shooter has mental health issues, same as the guy who shot at Reagan. But, gun nutters still think it's fine for mentally ill people to get access to guns.

Exactly.

Why is there such a connection between anti pedophiles (which I support that obviously) and conspiracy theorists of all political leanings. Hearkens to pizza gate. Even biblical - all the slaughter of the innocents stuff and conspiracy /hate accusations about baby blood against certain religions. Do they see themselves as protectors of the innocents? Even a bit of Catcher in the Rye. There is a thesis here for sure .

Yes, that's their training and protocol, to get him out of there as quickly as they can. But instead Dementia Don fought with them over his shoes and his hair and his photo op. And being 270 pounds plus that's a lot of bulk for them to try and wrestle to safety.

Hardly. He was so with it he asked for his shoes and wanted to address the crowd. Anyone else would have been carried out crying like a baby. People are going to eat this up.

Sane people know to get out of the line of fire and get the shoes later.

Sane is not the right word here. But it doesn't matter through which lens you're going to see this. The vast majority of others have a different take and their opinion and votes matter more.

Sane people wear shoes that fit and don’t fall off.

+1000

You'd think a supposed billionaire could afford shoes that fit properly.

To me I think of those poor SS agents who literally have to get between him and the next bullet and he would rather have his moment than listen to them. It to me symbolizes his selfishness and how our systems enable him.

I am glad he’s ok. I am a for gun control and against violence of all kinds. But this event was a loss of life for at least one innocent person and the reason it wasn’t worse was because of the actions of a group of highly trained professionals- not Trump.

He pumped his fist after the shooter was killed. SS knew he was dead because they got an “All Clear” before moving Trump. You know this, so stop gaslighting us and condemning a man for bravely letting his supporters know he’s okay after getting shot in the face. You’re just scolding him to deflect from your deep shame and cowardice.

The SS knows there’s a chance of a second shooter or a coordinated attack which is why they are covering him with their bodies and trying to remove him from the scene. No one thought oh we are all good here, let’s get the rally going again. They are literally being used as human shields and he’s fighting them for a photo op. And people like it. Insane.

If I was shot in the face I would hope no one would Monday Morning Quarterback my defiant reactions. You sound like a total coward tbh.

I'm not a Trump guy, but his pushing away secret service so that he could communicate with the crowd right after he got shot in the face is so obviously badass that I don't know how anyone could see it differently.

This must be a male/female difference. As a woman, I saw that as a reckless and dangerous (for him) move--even if he had been told the danger was over. But then I'm risk averse and am always playing it safe in life.

It’s not male/female. I’m a female and frequently said he’s too old to be running, which I still think. I saw the video and photos and my first reaction was wow, he is strong and brave.

Strong and brave would be Mandela. This guy is no Mandela. But I can see that in the alternate reality of MAGAworld, this is what passes for strength and bravery.

50 Cent is MAGA world? You need to get out of your cubicle. Working class men and people who were raised in the slums, and not in privilege, will eat this stuff up. Machismo culture is not MAGA. Go drink some chamomile tea and listen to an ASMR podcast.

You'd be surprised how often the shoes fall off.

Mine never do but I wear higher quality shoes that fit. I’m also not morbidly obese so I can tie them properly.

Have you ever been tackled by the secret service?

The Secret Service was going to drive a car out to the building the man was shooting from and climb it ( a ladder to reach the roof would come from where?) and attempt to gain access to the roof while the shooter continued to shoot to subdue him?

He wouldn’t try to shoot them also?

Are you mad?

By him I meant Trump. They were sort of struggling to cover him as he rooted for his shoes and pumped his fist

No, the Secret Service agents received the “all clear” in their earpieces and were authorized to remove Trump from the stage. He asked to grab his shoes and pumped his fist as they moved him from the stage to vehicle.

Secret Service let a gravely wounded RR walk into the ER in front of cameras under his own power.

Terrifying. The security was inadequate. If they couldn't cover the venue, did they recommend it not be held? My husband said they can make recommendations, but the candidate can override them.

Maybe worse. They hate what they fear they are themselves.

No doubt your brain is underweight. Or maybe you have a lot experience being tackled by 6 men while wearing dress shoes.

The website that sold the shirt the shooter was wearing sells a ton of very problematic swag that advocates for political violence.

Example:

https://www.bunkerbranding.com/products/make-politicians-afraid-again-hat

Sorry, but can we talk about the sick culture that surrounds guns in America? This is a mental disorder.

This simply gets his own base riled up. No one is going to switch to the other side because of an assassination attempt.
If this is how some base their vote, how stupid.

I am anti-Trump and I think his fist pump is both unequivocally badass and pure political genius. The photo of that fist in the air framed by the American flag, blood on his face after surviving a very serious attempt on his life, is absolutely historic. And in the end, it doesn't matter what DCUM thinks about this act - what matters is how American voters view it. Americans who love their machismo, their sports, and their crude symbolism will eat this up. In the end, this is a huge boost to Trump's campaign and his image.

This is so true! DCUM is such a subset and bubble of the rest of the country. Having left the DC area in recent years it’s amazing how much more normalized and balanced other areas are. Even between liberals and conservatives.
