"A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -- Author Unknown

You know, I think my views on veterans are the most un-pc thoughts I have - so I rarely share them! I don't respect people who are veterans just because they are veterans - there I said it. |
You must have a very long arm so go ahead and pat yourself on the back. Cowardice is not a virtue. |
I think everyone, male and female, should have to serve two years in military servce to their country, just as Israel does. Males at 18 sitill have to register but not females and this unfair. If we women want equality then we should be registering at 18. I also think that every member of Congress, President and Vice president, governors, should have military service. If they did maybe they would give more thought when sending American soldiers, sailors, marines, etc., in harm's way. Flame away, DCUM cowards, who want everything this country has to offer but are not willing to give anything back. |
There are thousands of ways to serve ones country that don't involve military service. |
But not many that come with a real risk of death. |
Tell that to the people that work in the U.S. Capitol. |
Amen. |
Or killing humans for a living. |
Cowards and hypocrites. How many of you are police, fire fighters? Not a damn one. A cushy job with the Fed govt. isn't serving your country, it is simply a job that a champanzee could do as well as you and could be paid in bananas. This is a good way to start hacking away at our huge deficit. |
99.9% of the work police do is to help people, not kill them. Yes, sometimes they have to, but that is the rare exception by far. |
You shouldn't throw the word "coward" around unless you have seen combat yourself. |
Really? Have you been in combat? |
Yes. And I am also not calling anyone a coward. |
