Kale recipe that actually makes it taste good?

I know it is supposed to be so good for you and usually we just boil or sautee and add salt and little olive oil. It is not very good. Is there something I can do to make it taste good? I don't mind butter, cheese, etc.

I love kale so maybe I'm the wrong person to post but I think it is delicious cooked with onions, in olive oil with salt -- a lot of olive oil. It is also delicious cooked then mixed into mac n cheese. I'll try to dig up my kale recipes later.

Saute garlic in olive oil. Pour over steamed kale and toss with salt.

OP here. Does the bitter taste go away for you all? I love mac and cheese so I may try to put it in that as suggested. Do I just throw it in there?

i love it roasted, with sea salt and garlic, red pepper flakes and oil. the garlic is pretty key, imho.

I have a fantastic recipe for a kale salad so the kale is still raw and is jam packed with nutrients. I swear it is SO GOOD! Just read all the reviews. You "massage" the kale which actually changes the texture--it's almost like tenderizing meat. The flavor combos are so yummy and it's so simple.

Sauté onions and z little bit of garlic. Once it's soft, add chopped and washed kale. Then add white miso (shiro I think) and water and pour it over and let it steam for a while ( 20-30mins) until kale Is soft & most of the liquid is gone. You probably put a total of a half cup of liquid per bunch of kale.

Put it in the mac n cheese already cooked. In the old days I would saute it in olive oil and onions first but in my more rushed moments I have added it to the boiling macaroni water. Cut it into small pieces. Delish in mac n cheese.

It's bitter if it is old. If you get tender baby kale, the taste is much better.

I like adding it to shepard's pie (Rachel Ray made a meatless version on her show one day), very tasty in there (or any pot pie/stew). I've also added it to cream of potato soup.

Where do you get baby kale? Is it seasonal?
