Jesus would be considered extremely woke by today’s standards. I don’t think most Christians would approve. |
+1 He was the OG SJW. He taught about compassion and reaching marginalized groups, taking care of the poor, welcoming foreigners. However, He did not care about politics. But, He did go against the Judaic law and performed a miracle "work" on the Sabbath. So, He was also a law breaker when man's law went against God's work. |

Agree with all of this!!! |
+100. I no longer practice but I believe in the his teachings. Once you learn that.. it sort of centers all other things in the world. I love all the creatures of the world too. I am okay with being called a snowflake. |
I am okay with being mocked. I am okay with feeling pain when my faith is tested. |
Isn’t this agency dead already?
Who cares what it did or even why it did it. It’s gone. |
Where did Jesus say to make the government be charitable?
We are all free to donate funds to charities. DH and I contribute a good portion of our income. I'd rather choose where to donate than to have my taxes paying for drag shows in Ecuador. USAID will likely continue to support valid charities --after they've cleaned things up. |
No, it isn't dead. There are plans for USAID to reemerge as a part of the State Department - but there are problems with this. And the easiest path would be to reinstate USAID - but Trump/Musk refuses to do anything the right way. |
+1. Marco Rubio Republican Senator from Florida was a big proponent of USAID until he lost his spine and conscience. You don’t like how your Congresspeople are spending your money-vote out your Congressperson. Don’t get a South African billionaire to cut random pieces of govt that investigate his business interests and call that consistent with the Constitution. |
It doesn’t. Unfortunately the Constitution was predicated on the belief that voters and their elected representatives understood the importance of diplomacy over unnecessary bloodshed. |
