Loudon GA I still has to be announced.

ECNL may make a move today.

ECNL might be out of moves, they appear to have poked the bear with MLSN, and this may force a shift for the girls side.

In the short term (3-5 years) ECNL is going to be just fine. Yes GA is making some good moves to setup long term sustainability but it's too soon to tell right now how successful they'll be, anything can happen.

As a lot of people point out, DMV soccer isn't the mountain peak, so why would what's happening here have any affect on the overall leagues? Wake me up when major clubs from CA, TX, Midwest, NJ, MI, PA or any other top location starts leaving ECNL for GA, because until that happens nothing is going to change at the national level.

And i'll get off my soapbox now, but what the GA is doing here isn't even that great, they now have 3 GA1 teams based out of the same city, let alone County, with a 4th that has historically recruited out of that same city/county.

GA is the new RL league in VA. Great for travel but is it worth the pricetag?

420 current GA players out of a pool of 2280 will play D1 soccer but 1860 will not

105 ECL RL players out of a pool of 4000 players will play D1 soccer, but most will not

I think it's HIGHLY unlikely you're looking at things being the same in 5 years.

RL is low because of lack of opportunities but this is changing. RL is opening up more opportunities with more events and more RL teams are invited to play in the ECNL tournaments. RL numbers will go up

Outside the NOVA clubs, ECNL MA is a joke compared to ECNL as a whole. Move the NOVA clubs to GA MA and there is no meaningful difference in quality between the resulting ECNL MA and the resulting GA MA, both of which remain a joke compared to ECNL as a whole. If you live in NOVA, then the rest of ECNL is not particularly relevant (beyond being the place you periodically go to get spanked).

Still a waterfall situation that will put rl players behind ga. How many players can a college scout watch at an ecnl showcase? What will their priorities be? Ecnl teams or rl teams?

No you're wrong there. New RL yes, but improved and there will be way more talent by nature of less ECNL teams.

Calm down ECNL hat. But I do question the value propostiion that less travel doesn't equate to better competition usually, so hats may be onto something there

Personally, I think next year is CRITICAL for ECNL to retain clubs this time of year.

If the tide starts to switch and they lose a few top 25 clubs and a few more top 50 clubs on girls side in February-April 2026, you will see mass exodus & tons of announcements in 2027 spring and kids jumping ship.

Plus we have this looming age BS…

We’re staying put because I don’t have the energy to be club hopping until it’s closer to my daughters’ recruiting years, but one is on the cusp.

How many clubs will switch to MLSN + GA because they won't need to shuffle any of they're current BY teams?
