Also notice how the release by DCU deliberately leaves out any mention of the player being a DCU academy product. Normally you would see the club saying "DCU academy product" or "DCU academy .midfielder" etc etc. But he wasn't with DCU when this happened, and this is also reflected in the players Transfermarkt history which clearly shows all of the FIFA transfers in a players history. And at the time, they were only getting 50k! They put out a press release for getting 50k, with options to get more if certain conditions were met. Imagine if a club in Europe put this out??? We made 50k from a player that isn't even in our academy!
People wouldn't take them seriously. But it shows you how inexperienced, weak and unsophisticated DCU is as an organization. |
| Last Feb, DCUA held ID session in Feb. Does anyone know if they’ll hold this Feb too? |
| Syc 2010 half team was 2009, pitful going going that route |
Liar! |
Either way. Not a great look for DCU. Taking the best kids from the local clubs and cannot consistently do well against them. It really isn't about winning and losing to be honest. These games don't really mean much. It is about the lack of any real coaching and development methodology at DCU. With the talent they have, if they were coached properly they wouldn't have trouble with any local team. It's that simple. Another example of why DCU is a dead end for high level football in our country. |
| You can't just run hard and fast and expect to play good football. If that was the case, you could make a team of track stars and be the best. Something DCU hasn't fully learned yet. |
But yet they keep following and executing that failed approach in scouting and coaching. Insanity is when you keep doing the same thing and expect different results. |
Absolutely correct. Their only hope is that the new director changes the focus. Which is possible. But, like has been said here before, it will take time. If you have a kid in the academy already, especially u15 and above, your time is running out. If you're just joining next year, your experience may be better and your potential ceiling may be higher. |
| fire all from old regime, new doc bring in fresh bloods. terrible showing from our boys |
Time is running out for what? How many people on here have a kid at this academy u15 or above? |
To make big strides in your development as a player. Especially in a weak development environment like DCU. Even if you have a kid that is u14 in their first year at DCU, this is all relevant. |
What is the scouting process steps and how is it failing? What is the coaching philosophy? What results are you measuring and against what? |
| DCU u15s haven't beaten SYC all season and aren't even close to the best team in the league. It's not because of lack of talent. It is because they aren't in a system that values teaching them how to actually play football. |
Arent you tired of asking the same dumb a## questions. Next... |
What exactly is stopping a player from making strides in their development? Give us the benchmarks, milestones and the time-line for development that makes a u15 become a professional? What percentage of responsibility does any academy have and what percentage does the player have for big strides in individual development? What did you say that is precisely relevant to a u14? |
