Is it just me, or do others think it completely weird that Obama essentially allowed Clinton to take over the President's press conference? I just can't believe he did that and think it sends completely the wrong message on the issue. Why would he do that; why would he let anyone (even Clinton) so obviously step into his shoes? It just doesn't seem like how a President should behave....with this, I'm really having my doubts.... |
Ditto... I voted for O and have had doubts for a year. |
Didn't see this but I liked O and also have had my doubts for awhile. I often get the impression he's just winging it. But maybe most of them are doing that anyway? |
For all of his personal faults (and, personally, I don't want a saint for president) Bill Clinton had EXPERIENCE and knew what he was doing. Obama had so little experience that it rattled around in a thimble. I voted for Obama, as well, mainy because he was the lesser of two evils. I hope we have all learned that experience is an absolute when electing the President and Vice President of the US. Obama is "just winging" it and this wasn't the "chnage you can believe in" I voted for. |
I voted for Obama (FWIW I'm AA) and I'm thinking this is turning into Jimmy Carter #2. I don't want to believe he is just winging it but...sheesh I don't know what to think. I thought having Clinton at the podium was really and truly odd. I mean was it supposed to convince us of something? I don't get it - O just seems weak, really weak. |
hey, being a state senator and writing a book IS experience. right? |
I concur that the Obama/Clinton press conference was extremely odd. They were there side by side for a good while, but the part that the media is showing is Obama ducking out and Clinton encouraging him to do so. Then Clinton taking charge as if he had never left ... it was almost like a SNL skit. Probably wise for Obama to be confident enough to not fear being upstaged by Clinton, but stay in the room for heaven's sake!!! |
Even Sarah Palin has more expeirence than B.O. |
Not anymore! Now if she had stuck around to complete her term as governor of Alaska, she would at least have kept up. |
lol...at least she smells good! |
I was wondering the same thing. It looked as if the WH called in the cavalry b/c the man in the oval office couldn't handle things on his own. Not exactly a confidence booster. FWIW, I voted for Obama as well, and very enthusiastically! Overall I think he did the best he could under very difficult circumstances, but this press conference is not something I would have agreed to if I were in his shoes. |
I thought it was funny. It looked like he got bored with Clinton and left. |
I agree. I thought it actually showed that Obama had a strong ego -- that he wasn't afrraid to call in CLinton to help him, wasn't afraid to let him talk to the press, and then when Clinton ran on and on, as he tends to do, wasn't afraid to just let him talk to the press -- but Obama had other things to take care of. |
How much experience did Lincoln have? |
He left to go to his daughters Christmas show at school |
