Inflicting Sarah Palin on Haiti

God, if this isn't a self-serving photo op, I don't know what is. The worst part is that the only person allowed to talk to her is Greta Van Susteren, her Fox chaperone. I guess they can't risk having someone ask her a question about Haiti, because she would have to show some working knowledge of the country.

If this is a sample of how she would show up at a disaster, thanks but no thanks. There are actors who know more than her.

Obama did a much worse job in Haiti after promising to throw everything into it than Bush did in New Orleans. Bush is way more compassionate to poor people than Obama. 230000 people died AFTER Obama said he would put the total effort of the US into rescue efforts. Remember to never trust a liberal.

That's a lie. The number was raised because they were still counting bodies from the quake. It's hard to get through all of the rubble, there is no census to say who lived where, or who is missing.

Not sure what you would have done. Do you have the ability to unflatten people?

Sarah Palin is no different than any of the other hundreds of full-of-BS folks who've gone down to Haiti for a day of photo ops.

Truth be told, no one -- not our current or former US presidents, nor any other politicians for that matter -- have done anything they pledged to do for Haiti. Of the $5+ billion pledged via the UN, less than $400,000 had actually reached there more than 6 months after the earthquake.

The most bizarre and shameful fact about US engagement in post-earthquake Haiti is that a Hollywood actor (Sean Penn) is the only person who has actually done anything worth a darn.

I can tell you how to get any place in that country you want to get to. I have been active in Haiti since '85. I was there when Jean Claude Duvalier was overthrown. I know my way around P-a-P like the back of my hand. I have spent time in Petit Goave, a small town near Les Cayes, and up to the north. Don't tell me what I care about.

If you want to talk about Haitian politics and the influence of certain christian aid groups on Haiti, I'd be happy to discuss it at length. But I expect that you would have to google the entirety of your responses.
