Infertility Support and Discussion
I just wanted to let women over 40 know that it's not hopeless, I was told by my RE at SG that I needed DE, but I was able to get a BFP from natural cycle IVF. I realize it was a long shot, but I'm happy to be given the chance to try with my own eggs. My sono is scheduled for next week.
Good for you. I hope it's a keeper.
Thanks, I know there is a long road ahead, but I'm thinking only positive thoughts.
Man, you know you've been dealing with infertility too long when you refer to a baby as "a keeper." I don't mean that in a mean way -- I totally get it. It just struck me that anyone not familiar with IF probably would choose other words. Congrats OP! Fingers crossed for you that all goes well!
Congratulations! I am also 43 and in 2ww - I hope I am as blessed as you!

Congratulations, OP!
Is this your first pregnancy? What a wonderful holiday season for you and your family!! Best wishes!!!! |
Congrats! The same thing happened to me at 42. It really can be done.
Hey, Congratulations. I got pregnant via IVF at age 43 and 3 months...after doctors told me it probably couldn't happen. Tomorrow, we are celebrating my beautiful six year old daughter's birthday. This is indeed one of life's miracles. Doesn't get any better than this! Best of luck to you.

Thank you for keeping hope alive!
congratulations. please take care and be particularly cautious about invasive procedures such as CVS.
I'm 39 with high FSH, low AMH, and low afc, i'm considering doing natural cycle IVF before doing DE, I'm currently at SGF and they won't even consider it, why are they so against it? I know of two women personally, one in my office and one in my neighborhood that did natural cycle, and both got pregnant although it took one of them 3 tries. Obviously it is a viable option so why is the largest clinic in our area so against it?? i really like my RE at SGF but he literally got angry when I asked about natural cycle, what's the deal?

I've read the article but it just doesn't make sense, they are supposed to be the leaders in infertility and clearly natural cycle is the best option for some people, straight male infertility and low responders like those who are AMA. Why not give it a try?
CCRM and Cornell, two of the leading clinics in this country, don't do natural cycle IVF. In fact, they rarely, if ever, do low stim IVF. Natural cycle is the right option for a small number of people and the larger clinics are focused on what works for a large population of people, which is high stims that potentially produce a larger number of eggs.
And honestly? Clinics don't make as much money off natural cycle IVF.
