I am glad he’s ok. I am a for gun control and against violence of all kinds. But this event was a loss of life for at least one innocent person and the reason it wasn’t worse was because of the actions of a group of highly trained professionals- not Trump.

He pumped his fist after the shooter was killed. SS knew he was dead because they got an “All Clear” before moving Trump. You know this, so stop gaslighting us and condemning a man for bravely letting his supporters know he’s okay after getting shot in the face. You’re just scolding him to deflect from your deep shame and cowardice.

The SS knows there’s a chance of a second shooter or a coordinated attack which is why they are covering him with their bodies and trying to remove him from the scene. No one thought oh we are all good here, let’s get the rally going again. They are literally being used as human shields and he’s fighting them for a photo op. And people like it. Insane.

If I was shot in the face I would hope no one would Monday Morning Quarterback my defiant reactions. You sound like a total coward tbh.

I'm not a Trump guy, but his pushing away secret service so that he could communicate with the crowd right after he got shot in the face is so obviously badass that I don't know how anyone could see it differently.

This must be a male/female difference. As a woman, I saw that as a reckless and dangerous (for him) move--even if he had been told the danger was over. But then I'm risk averse and am always playing it safe in life.

I am anti-Trump and I think his fist pump is both unequivocally badass and pure political genius. The photo of that fist in the air framed by the American flag, blood on his face after surviving a very serious attempt on his life, is absolutely historic. And in the end, it doesn't matter what DCUM thinks about this act - what matters is how American voters view it. Americans who love their machismo, their sports, and their crude symbolism will eat this up. In the end, this is a huge boost to Trump's campaign and his image.

Unless Democrats switch to Kamala Harris pronto. She would make Trump look so old and inarticulate.

Unfortunately, Biden is probably reaffirmed in his decision to stick around after this event. Sigh.

We have one candidate who is so cognitively in decline and narcissistic that he stops evacuating to pump his fist and address the crowd in an active shooter situation (there could have been a second shooter); is obsessed with sharks and batteries; and has absolutely zero morals or policies; and can only yell about his victimhood and punishing his enemies.

We have another candidate who is so cognitively declined that he refuses the transition he promised and continues, against all evidence, to believe he's the only one who can beat his opponent; when these days he's probably the one whom Trump can beat handily. He's literally holding his party hostage and has told us he'll be fine with Trump winning in November because "he will have done his best".

CRAZY TIMES.

The Secret Service was going to drive a car out to the building the man was shooting from and climb it ( a ladder to reach the roof would come from where?) and attempt to gain access to the roof while the shooter continued to shoot to subdue him?

He wouldn’t try to shoot them also?

Are you mad?

Former President Trump can now be called Future President Trump.

Pack it up libs, it's over.

There's nothing Biden can do to compete with this.

The election was decided yesterday and Trump won.

Yes, that's their training and protocol, to get him out of there as quickly as they can. But instead Dementia Don fought with them over his shoes and his hair and his photo op. And being 270 pounds plus that's a lot of bulk for them to try and wrestle to safety.

Hardly. He was so with it he asked for his shoes and wanted to address the crowd. Anyone else would have been carried out crying like a baby. People are going to eat this up.

The shooter was a registered Republican who followed right wing and libertarian social media like "Demolition Ranch" and on his own, posted about "Praise the lord" and "on a quest to take down Epstein's evil empire"

Sane people know to get out of the line of fire and get the shoes later.

Nope. Race is going to be neck & neck on September 1. Trump will get a post-convention bump, but that settles with time. Pollsters were already struggling with getting the sample model correct given the difficulty with predicting who shows up to vote in the post-Dobbs environnement and this shooting now makes that even more difficult. For every person saying “Trump is so badass!” there’s another person saying “This is chaos, so risky, lord help us.”

A lot of people are scared after what they saw in that video. Scared of people with guns and their calls for “vengeance”

It’s not male/female. I’m a female and frequently said he’s too old to be running, which I still think. I saw the video and photos and my first reaction was wow, he is strong and brave.

Trump might increase his lead by 10 points among men for this kind of thing. Shrugging off a shot in the face and pumping your fist is some real man stuff. This is going to get him so many votes in Union halls and among blue collar Black, white, and Hispanic male voters. Do not underestimate how much optics >>>>>>> policy in presidential politics.

You aren't a leader. Cowering on the floor is not the kind of leader anyone wants.

Now you’re claiming Ronald Reagan was a leader no one wanted? Have you watched *that* video? He got thrown onto the floor of the limo about one second after the shots were fired.

It’s a dumb rubric and Trump is a man who has encouraged violence.

The fact that people look at this and think he's a "badass" is lol funny.

He is in a--hole, not a badass.
