It won't be long and it will tank better than VDA and NVA for most of its teams and regain the club rankings that were achieved by FCVTSJ. It is happening a lot faster than even CC expected. They will likely be in Champions League this year!

A little context needed here.....when there are 10 "elite" (ECNL or GA) teams in the state of Virginia, stating your GA team is in the top 10 in the state isn't exactly the brag you were looking for....

considering the high school aged teams haven't played a team outside VA, i'd say this is wishful thinking this early into the season.

You think BP on the field with the players is a good thing? LOL. I suggest you go watch one of his practices (if he allows it)

Didn't think VDA implemented his no watch policy, you should be able to go see his trainings...

BP at VDA is different than he was at FCV.

How is BP different?

Parents can watch practice.

We watched practice at Evergreen. He never said anything about that and he cant control it. Plus that was NOT BPs biggest issue.

Anonymous wrote:LOL, BP just got to VDA. Entire 2005/06 team had D1 commits to some of the top academic and soccer schools, UCLA and FSU included. BP has been present for all of two commits from this year, one being UVA, which is a shock because prior coaches had a falling out with UVA. That's a plus. BP is great for VDA, but don't think for a second he's even 5% of the reason for so many D1 commits.

The question wasn’t about BP impact on VDA. It was his impact on FCV which also had great commits. Does MP and CC have the same success without him? How good Revolution can be might start with that.

My kid got an excellent offer to top 3 D1 team via CZ - BP had NOTHING to do with it. And had no connections with the college coaching staff.

Is it common practice at Rev to not carry large teams? I see other clubs with stacked benches and most Revolution teams have half as many.

Prolly the whole one family motto didn’t get sold well at the meetings. Or maybe not enough beverages were supplied in time to sway the paying customers. Who knows.

What do you consider a large team?

Rev has a standard 2-3 bench players vs 4-6 for the teams we've played in 9v9 from what I've seen this season.

Most coaches will tell you they don't want a large roster, especially for 9v9. That's not exclusive to Rev.

So who makes the teams big, the club wanting money? I do t see many clubs with smaller rostered teams across the different levels of a club on purpose around the DMV.

Why do you want 6 bench players for 9v9? that basically means the entire team plays 1/2 the game and it's a massive line change

Because 9v9 turns into 11v11 and a 6 player bench turns into 4. The good u12 9v9 teams are already playing in 11v11 tournaments and some are playing in 11v11 leagues as well

Spoken like a coach trying to justify having such large teams, i don't think any parent would see it that way, since less players = more playing time and playing 11v11 tournaments would mean only adding 1~3 players for a weekend vs carrying 1~3 extra players for an entire year.

Look at EDP for U13. There are U12 teams playing.
