I drive a 13 year old car and don't have a long commute at all. Doesn't change what I see at the gas pump regarding price per gallon.

If you don’t have a long commute then the financial impact should not be as severe. It’s a hardship but gas prices will stabilize. But Americans wing learn any lessons because we are a nation of goldfish.

If the PP has a short commute, even if they're going into the office every single day, they're going through what, 25 gallons of gas per month? That's $50 per month more at $5/gal than $3/gal. That's not going to bust the budget of any but the most financially precarious workers.

You folks are so out of touch that I can hardly believe it. Yes, I'm fortunate that it's nor impacting me severely. Do you not get that many families are struggling or even suffering? Your denials and condescending posts aren't going to make voters vote the way you want in November.

+1. Keep telling people they’re not really struggling. It’s all in their heads and even if it was real it’s their fault anyway. I’m actually embarrassed to be a democrat reading this. This is why we are going to lose.

Agreed. I find this particularly true of DC-NYC-Philly Dems and more so of DCUMers. Dems in urban Midwest wear less rose colored glasses.

You give me a good job with more pay? I work real hard.

Does it need to be pointed out that an oil pipeline does not increase the amount of oil supply? All that oil is still being pumped. Still being turned into gasoline. And the price is still the price. You can thank capitalism.

It hasn't hurt Republicans one bit, and they've been saying it for what, 50 years now? Get a job, hippie! Let's all scorn welfare queens and strapping young bucks on food stamps! Pull yourself up by the bootstraps, America is the land of opportunity! There's no such thing as structural inequalities!

It doesn’t matter what they say. We claim to be the party that cares, so sh!t like what pp wrote is out of touch at best. Worst we sound like we’re only interested in the under represented and poor to get votes. It is shameful.
