Weird things you have discovered about yourself

I get twitches in my lower eyelid or my cheek right under my eyelid whenever I eat mint candy or drink mint herbal teas. I suffered with this for years before figuring out the connection. I think of this now because I had a roll of Mentos yesterday and just felt a little twang. I wonder how many people also experience this and have no idea why.

What have you found out about yourself that you could never learn via Google or a physician?

When I'm pregnant the skin on my hips gets sore immediately and lasts until a day or so after I deliver.....I actually "knew" I had gotten pregnant the second time around because of the skin thing...

Accutane makes my nose and eyebrows sweat uncontrollably....

Okay, this is weird but here goes.

If I'm having a hard time catching my breath, or needing to take one of those really deeeeep breaths, I gently caress the webbed area between my fingers, right where the fingers end and the palm begins. It works every time. Within seconds I'm able to take deep breaths!

Oh, God, one of my eyes has been twitching off and on for months! I wonder if it is diet related. I figured it was lack of sleep, but I never get any sleep, why should this month be different?

I know that this is used in hand reflexology. Not sure all the official reasons but some say it works against headache.

In some people, the eye twitch is caused by a salt deficiency. (Not sure if it's regular NaCl, or some other dietary element.)

If I sip a carbonated beverage too soon after swallowing food, I have one loud hiccup that sounds like a screeching hawk. It happens to my mother, too, but I've never heard it from anyone else.

Yes, Ice pick is exactly what it feels like! It used to freak me out too. I think mine are related to my caffeine addiction.

I get "ice pick" headaches and they were officially diagnosed as migraines. The ice pick feels like it is stabbing into my upper inner eye close to my nose, and also I have a sharp pain on the same side of my head in the back near where the back of my skull joins the neck. Sometimes these can last a day or two. It comes with light and noise sensitivity to one degree or another and sometimes, but not always, nausea. Once diagnosed I took a prescription med for awhile, but now I find that I can generally control them with Excedrin Migraine formula.

The "ice pick" description, hemispheric pain (meaning only one side of the head), light/sound sensitivity, and nausea are all typical migraine symptoms, so if this describes you, it might be worth a visit to the doctor.
