Apparently it’s wrong to not want to spend life as a spare (x4) in service of a crown only to become irrelevant and lose all ability to support oneself once the heir’s own children are old enough to take on duties. Harry knows what happens to spares in that family and got out to make a life for himself on his terms while he was still marketable. Pretty smart.

He went from being controlled by one to now being controlled by another. It’s sad because he thought he was finding freedom but not only was it more of the same but it was if his own choosing. And there’s no getting out now.

I find it so strange that Harry is being cast as some sort of damsel in distress needing to be rescued by the DCUM crowd. He said repeatedly that the decision to leave the Royal family was his. Why is this so difficult to accept? He’s not the little boy walking behind his mom’s casket anymore. He’s a grown man who has shown no signs of being incompetent to handle his own affairs. If he makes choices as a private citizen that you don’t agree with, well, that’s really none of your business. At this point, he’s like any other celebrity - he owes us nothing but what he chooses to give and if we don’t like it, we can ignore it. Simple.
